COMMITTEES

The Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council currently has five committees and several working groups, as follows.

Executive Committee
Mandate:
  • To supervise the management of the Council and actively guide its Board, staff and committees in the pursuit of its objectives.
  • To oversee the financial and administrative affairs of the Council, subject to such directions, restrictions and limitations as may from time to time be assigned by the Board.

Association/Membership Committee

Mandate:
  • To review the current role and representative nature of the pillar associations and their representatives on the Council’s Board, and to make recommendations to the Board to:
    • Ensure responsiveness to the associations currently represented;
    • Ensure that roles and responsibilities are endorsed and leveraged to the maximum extent possible, to the Council and the associations;
    • Enable communications to occur seamlessly between and amongst organizations; and,
    • Reinforce the strategic importance of the Council as a forum for all stakeholders.
  • To explore ways and means for other stakeholders (non-pillar) to be appropriately engaged in Council governance and program/project activities.
  • To develop appropriate programming for the Association Forums.
  • To review and recommend revisions (if appropriate) to by-laws, policies and procedures regarding membership on the Council.

Marketing and Communications Committee
Mandate:
  1. To develop key business strategies that will enable the Council to connect with its target audiences.
  2. To develop tactics in print, visual and other media, and presentation packages aimed at securing the Council’s leadership role in addressing skills, labour market, and human resources information for the sector.

Research Committee
Mandate:
  1. To undertake strategic activities that will enable the Council to fulfill its overall objectives as outlined in the sector study and subsequent projects as are identified from time to time.
  2. To coordinate activities of the various project working groups to ensure results, and to allocate resources as appropriate to enable staff and the Board to achieve those results.
  3. Chairs of working groups will report through the Research Committee to the Executive Committee and Board.
