When employees have an impact on decisions that affect their jobs, they feel greater value and connection with their company. It is motivating for employees to feel that their input and ideas are encouraged and appreciated. The company can also gain very valuable insight through thoughtful ideas from the people who often know the company and its products, processes and environment best.
 
While many employees will naturally make suggestions regarding potential improvements to processes or the workplace in general, many do not feel comfortable doing so as they feel it could be viewed as questioning management's knowledge of the business, given it is they who implemented the current processes and policies. Providing a forum and a tool for these employees to provide their input will give them the authorization that they need to express their opinions.
